DEBATE - ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENT IS THE SOLE AIM OF THE STUDENTS – FOR THE MOTION

Academic Accomplishment is the sole aim of the students - Debate Speech in favour of the motion
Academic Accomplishment is the greatest asset of any individual, It helps him conquer the world, dominate the society and gives him a cutting edge in all walks of life.
Honorable chairperson, distinguished adjudicators, fellow debaters and all my dear friends … Good morning! I strongly favour the motion Academic Accomplishments is the sole aim of the students.
My dear friends, what’s your ambition in your life? I am sure most you  wish to enter the field of medicine , engineering ,teaching, research, IAS, IPS, IFS… the list goes on…, Do you believe , You can achieve your ambition without academic excellence? No…No … No …Those who want to enter the field medicine and engineering and academia requires solid academic background
Academic success is important because it is strongly linked to the positive outcomes we value. Adults who are academically successful and with high levels of education can ensure socially economically and emotionally balanced life  and are less likely to be engage in criminal activity, are more active as citizens and charitable volunteers and are healthier and happier. Academic success is important because working people will need higher levels of education to tackle the technologically demanding occupations of the future. Now a day you need a post-secondary education in order to get a job. Academically successful adolescents have higher self-esteem, have lower levels of depression and anxiety, are socially inclined, and are less likely to abuse alcohol and engage in substance abuse. Positive self-esteem and self-confidence are critical factors in commitment to academic success. Parents who were involved in their child’s education and family activities saw positive results in the area of behavior, academics and social interactions. Organization, time management, prioritization, concentration and motivation are the key outcomes of academic excellence.
If we take the examples of renowned personalities, majority of them have solid academic background, for example.. Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi, architect of modern India Jawaharlal Nehru, father of Indian constitution Dr BR Ambedkar, missile man of India APJ Abdul Kalam…..etc
Schools are mushrooming in India and the number has reached around 13 Lakh and the universities to 769.Still you believe that academic excellence is not the sole aim of the students? I leave this question to the global student community.
